Our TES Schools Awards charity for 2016

The Transformation Trust is an education charity that runs fully funded employability programmes for schools in deprived parts of the UK. We work with over 1,300 state second schools every year and deliver programmes in partnership with the likes of Barclays, BT, Dell, EDF, Nationwide and Prudential, together with a range of HE institutions.

In autumn 2016, we will be running a truly once-in-a-lifetime work experience opportunity for sixth-form students. Inspire US 2016 will see 20 sixth-formers from five different schools travel to the US to be campaign interns for the final two weeks of the US elections. Working in the swing state of Florida, the students will work alongside seasoned political campaigners from both national parties.

Day to day, students will get involved in canvassing voters, attending rallies, and getting the vote out on the all-important election day on Tuesday 8 November, 2016. Before travelling home, the students will stop off at Washington DC, to take in some of the main political landmarks, including the White House and Capitol Hill.
